Pergola Options
Four ways to bring shade and architecture to your Florida outdoor space.
Each system has a different sweet spot. Below is the framework we use to help clients pick the right one — and we are happy to walk you through it in person.
Motorized Pergolas
✦Open sky to sealed shelter at the press of a button.
Motorized louvered pergolas adjust to the Florida day around you. Open the louvers to feel the breeze, tilt them for filtered light, or close them tight when the afternoon thunderstorm arrives. Integrated rain and wind sensors react before you do, so the space is always ready to use.

Insulated Pergolas
✦Solid roof comfort with the design language of a pergola.
Insulated pergolas use foam-core aluminum roof panels to keep the space below dramatically cooler than a solid wood or stucco roof — without the bulk. They are the right choice when you want a permanent, weatherproof ceiling that still reads as a refined outdoor structure.

Louvered Pergolas
✦Adjustable shade. Architectural lines. Florida-ready.
Louvered pergolas — manual or motorized — give you complete control over light, airflow, and rain coverage. The clean, repeating rhythm of the blades is a defining design moment on its own, and the structure is fully sealed when closed.

Custom Aluminum Pergolas
✦Bespoke shade architecture, designed around your home.
Some properties call for more than a standard kit. Custom aluminum pergolas let us shape spans, profiles, columns, and finishes to your home's architecture — wide cantilevers, integrated planters, curved beams, and tailored proportions you cannot get off the shelf.

Florida-specific
Why a Florida pergola is a different conversation.
Florida combines three conditions that punish under-engineered outdoor structures: intense UV, salt air corrosion, and hurricane-zone wind loads. The result is that products that work fine elsewhere often fail prematurely here.
Our default specification is marine-grade aluminum extrusions, powder-coated finishes, stainless or bronze fasteners, and engineered drawings sized to your specific wind zone. Coastal projects east of US-1 get an additional layer of corrosion-resistance.
And every structure ships with a written storm-prep checklist — the practical steps you take in the 48 hours before a major storm to make sure the structure rides it out.
Considerations
The decisions that shape a pergola project.
- Freestanding vs. attachedAttached pergolas tie into the home and require flashing detail; freestanding sit independently and avoid roof penetrations.
- Open louvered vs. solid roofOpen louvered systems give you the sky back when the weather is good; insulated roofs are dramatically cooler underneath.
- Motorized vs. manualMotorized systems with rain sensors make the space genuinely self-managing; manual is a value-conscious choice for less-used spaces.
- Color matchingPowder coat can be color-matched to the home's existing trim so the structure reads as part of the architecture.
