An aging wood pergola was past replacement, and the homeowners wanted a modern louvered system without disturbing the home's Mediterranean character. Coral Gables' design review process required careful color and proportion documentation.

Motorized louvered pergola sized to match the original footprint, in a powder-coat color matched to the home's existing trim. New outdoor kitchen built in porcelain slab with concealed appliances and ducted ventilation.

A space that reads as if it had always been there — but performs dramatically better in summer rain and heat than the wood structure it replaced.
