Challenge
The problem we were asked to solve.
A 1990s screened pool cage was obscuring the rear elevation of an otherwise beautiful home. The homeowners wanted to open up the architecture without giving up rain coverage or losing the ability to keep mosquitoes out at dusk.
Approach
How we sequenced the project.
Removed the screened cage, installed a motorized louvered pergola sized to the seating zone, and added retractable side screens that disappear into cassettes when not in use. Detached outdoor kitchen pavilion to the side gave the family a true entertaining setup without crowding the pool.
Result
How the space lives now.
The rear of the home reads as architecture again. Rain coverage is now better than the cage provided, and the screens come down only when needed.
